ON THE MOVE

MONROE BANK ON THE MOVE

For over 70 years, Monroe Bank operated with one main location in Bloomington, Indiana. Then 1966 saw the onset of significant geographic expansion.

Today, Monroe Bank has 12 banking centers, a drive-through banking location, three retirement community banking centers, two business and loan centers, as well as a central operations center. For the past four decades, strategic geographic expansion has helped provide consistent earnings growth for the bank and its shareholders.

As the bank moved into the twenty-first century, it embarked on building its franchise more rapidly by applying its successful core model for new deposit and loan growth in Hendricks County, a fast-growing region just west of Indianapolis.

Storefront locations were opened in Avon, Brownsburg and Plainfield. The success of these spawned the opening of more visible, strategically located, full-service banking centers a few years later. The full-service banking center in Brownsburg opened in January 2006, the banking center in Plainfield opened in December 2007, and the Avon banking center in January 2008.

The company’s growth plans also include Hamilton County in the northeast area of greater Indianapolis. A new, full-service banking center was opened in Noblesville in September 2008.
