Bank donates
funds, volunteers to help area family, Habitat for Humanity
BLOOMINGTON, IND.— On Saturday, June 5, Habitat for
Humanity began work on their 50th house in Monroe County with
the help of Monroe Bank employees and their families and friends.
The build will continue until July 27, with over 50 bank volunteers
working alongside new homeowners Luiz and Patricia Lopes and
Habitat for Humanity personnel. On Saturday volunteers framed
the house at 1066 North Oolitic Drive in Bloomington.
In addition to participating in the build, Monroe Bank has
donated funds to cover one quarter of the entire cost of the
home. Mark Bradford, President and CEO of Monroe Bank recently
presented a check to Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County.
“Monroe Bank is committed to serving our communities,”
said Mr. Bradford. “We are proud to once again partner
with Habitat for Humanity, especially to commemorate this
milestone for the Habitat organization and the Bloomington
community.” This marks the second time Monroe Bank has
partnered with Habitat for Humanity. As part of the Bank’s
100th anniversary celebration in 1992, Monroe Bank partially
sponsored the cost of a home and employees helped to build
a house in Bloomington.
